country info

Polish is a Slavic language, using a Latin alphabet with several specific letters. The Polish are very proud of their language, and legal measures have been taken to protect the language. As a result all contracts with Polish nationals should be in Polish to be legally binding. All manuals and product descriptions should be in Polish; all communication with the state authorities should be in Polish. A large proportion of the population supports using Polish company names instead of English names. Polish is spoken not only in Poland, but in Ukraine, Belarus and Lithuania as well as in the large Polish communities in the U.S.A. Knowledge of foreign languages is poor in Poland. Letters written in English may put your Polish partner in a frustrating position. Therefore he/she might consider ignoring your letter. It is strongly recommended to use Polish whenever possible in your communication.
